A Story Circle Network’s Online Workshop: “Writing Truth to Power”

  • Have you ever wanted to tell that ugly part of yourself to be quiet?
  • Have you ever wanted to write that letter to the editor about your beliefs on a topic?
  • Have you ever needed to send a letter to your Congressional leaders to express your opinion on a policy issue?
  • Have you ever wanted to tell a family member to give you a break?

Whether you send a letter, a poem, and essay, or a rant, it’s important to get what’s in your heart and head on paper. This workshop will give you the time and encouragement to do just that. To register, go to: Writing Truth to Power class.

DESCRIPTION

I will facilitate this four-week online Zoom workshop that will focus on writing a letter or any other form of writing to the powers that be in your life. That could be a letter to a family member you need to stand up to; a letter to the editor on an issue; a letter to a politician that you want to influence with your thoughts and values; or any kind of letter (sent or not) that helps you express what is true for you based on your experience in life and your values. We will work to make each piece of writing empathic, compassionate, but non-apologetic for our truth.
